About
Hello Internet person. Welcome. My name is Mark Rapaport, creator and editor of The RapReport–a premier satirical news blog and a surprisingly decent pun on my last name. The RapReport was originally created with the intention of keeping mankind as misinformed as possible on all aspects of the news. RapReport Sports will not be replacing it. But it will, as you may have guessed, focus only on professional sports.
This blog may not provide you with any valuable facts about how to best groom your dog or why your diet isn’t working. However, it will (fingers crossed) provide you with some laughs and a lighter look at the world of sports–a world that often takes itself a little too seriously.
I have experience writing satirical sports articles in the past (for the original RapReport), and have also submitted numerous headlines to The Fake ESPN, a popular ESPN Twitter parody account. It is my hope that I can concentrate all of my satirical sports material right here on this new blog.
The primary leagues covered will be the NBA, MLB, NFL, as well as some college football and basketball (sorry hockey fans, I’m still learning what a “Zamboni” is). And as a Johns Hopkins student, who knows–maybe I’ll even throw in some lacrosse.
Don’t be shocked if things get a little heated on here. Sports reporting is, in general, a brutal field. You’ll soon find that not even my home NYC teams are safe from being the subject of the joke (Alex Rodriguez, I’m looking at you–or at least I’m trying to, but that enormous syringe keeps getting in the way).
It’s my hope that, through this blog, I can sharpen my satire skills and connect to an audience of sports fans. Remember: professional sports wouldn’t be what it is without the voice of the fans. So if you have anything to say about something I post on here, don’t hesitate to chime in.
